John Stretch Park, Clewiston, Florida
Daily the waters of Lake Okeechobee are in need of prayer and healing. Continually she gets bombarded with herbicidal spraying and manipulation by mankind who wants to shape her into what mankind wants with out regard to Nature’s voice. The State of Florida must get serious in addressing, preventing, and stopping the chemical assisted suicide they are perpetuating on Lake Okeechobee and Florida’s waters. Water is Life, we can not live without it.
Indigenous people have long understood that relationships with the natural world must be fostered for we the two legged are a part of nature. We must heal that relationship and reforge our bond and regain our spiritual connection to the natural world in order to move forward together and heal.
Join us as we walk in prayer for the healing of our relationships with water and in turn ourselves.
We will walk the entirety of the lake circumference 110 miles. Averaging 15 to 22 miles per day.
You must be able to walk at least 15 miles per day. For most of the days we will be dependent on ourselves. We will be camping at the stop point of each day.
All walkers must have their own camping gear and supplies for 7 days. YOU must make sure YOU are healthy enough to make this type of arduous journey.
This prayer walk will greatly test your mind, body, and soul.
