Sabal Trail Protest in Live Oak Florida
Drew, Ela and her daughter Alyssa stayed at Sacred Water Camp for another #StopSabalTrail action in Live Oak FL near the Suwannee River in Feb of 2017. Their stay included camping with groups of peers, helping out with tasks of daily living, education, prayer and of course PROTEST.
CALLING ALL WATER DRINKERS:
The battle to #STOPSABALTRAIL from building it's 515-mile pipeline planned to transport natural gas from Pennsylvania to Florida is happening now.
The construction alone threatens one of the largest freshwater aquifers in the world, the Floridan Aquifer, as well as the 20 million people whose water supply depends on the preservation and purity of such systems.
The pipeline will cross many significant wetlands and rivers, and their horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations have immense potential to contaminate our drinking water.
Building a natural gas pipeline only prevents us from moving towards renewable energy.
The companies behind Sabal Trail—some of the same ones assembling DAPL—appear to be building as fast as they can, with active construction in dozens of locations along the route. The pipeline pushers know that their days are numbered as a great resistance continues to grow.
Join us. This is the beginning of a worldwide movement - a revolution of returning to the earth. Where do you stand?
Many camps are mobilizing along the route in efforts to protect these waters. We need supplies, organizers, able bodies, medicine men and women with native roots to help anchor in the spirituality that Standing Rock so clearly utilized with such potency, vets who wish to stand in solidarity with water protectors, peaceful warriors with experience in direct action work and anyone else desiring to be a part of this movement.
Your presence makes a difference.
